To be held over one day at each locations, the APTTF Annual Awards 2019 – Malaysia will
have the presence of Honourable Tourism Minister of Malaysia and invited VVIP’s at the
In Malaysia, the APTTF Annual Awards will have the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 overview
and topic discussion by panel members of the speakers. Some 400 delegates of Malaysian
Hospitality, Tourism & Travel are expected to meet at Palace Of Golden Horses, Kuala
Lumpur on the 11 th April 2019.
This year, besides the regular Award categories, additional awards has been added on, like
the Individual Category (HOSPITALITY RISING STAR & HOSPITALITY SUPERSTARS,
GOLF TOURISM & CLUB OPERATION SUPERSTARS, TOURISM & TRAVEL

Stay Destination Awards are some latest Award added this year for Malaysia chapter of
APTTF Annual Awards 2019.
The Finalist of APTTF Annual Awards 2019 is regulated and decided upon stringent public
voting in Malaysia. In 2017, APTTF Annual Awards recorded some half a million votes
within Malaysia alone of which some 180 Hospitality & Tourism destinations were honoured
at Marina Bay Sands Singapore.

Gearing Up Towards Visit Malaysia Year 2020
The direct contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was MYR65.7bn (USD15.2bn), 4.8% of total GDP in 2017 and is forecast to rise by 3.9% in 2018, and to rise by 4.4% pa, from 2018-2028, to MYR105.5bn (USD24.3bn), 5.1% of total GDP in 2028.
The total contribution of Travel & Tourism to GDP was MYR181.4bn (USD41.9bn), 13.4% of GDP in 2017, and is forecast to rise by 4.3% in 2018, and to rise by 4.6% pa to MYR296.3bn(USD68.4bn), 14.4% of GDP in 2028.
In 2017 Travel & Tourism directly supported 670,000 jobs (4.6% of total employment). This is expected to rise by 1.1% in 2018 and rise by 3.1% pa to 923,000 jobs (5.2% of total employment) in 2028.
In 2017, the total contribution of Travel & Tourism to employment, including jobs indirectly supported by the industry was 11.8% of total employment (1,704,500 jobs). This is expected to rise by 1.5% in 2018 to 1,730,000 jobs and rise by 3.1% pa to 2,356,000 jobs in 2028 (13.2% of total).
Visitor exports generated MYR80.2bn (USD18.5bn), 8.3% of total exports in 2017. This is forecast to grow by 3.1% in 2018, and grow by 4.1% pa, from 2018-2028, to MYR122.9bn(USD28.4bn) in 2028, 9.1% of total.
Travel & Tourism investment in 2017 was MYR23.0bn, 6.7% of total investment (USD5.3bn). It should rise by 3.9% in 2018, and rise by 4.9% pa over the next ten years to MYR38.5bn (USD8.9bn) in 2028, 7.5% of total.
